Level 2 Certificate in Group Training (Group Training To Music - optional extra)

This amazing new course is new at level 2 entry level and is ideal for those who are interested in starting their career as a group training instructor rather than working in a gym environment. It covers a variety of disciplines relating to group training such as high intensity interval training (HIIT), circuits, body conditioning, studio resistance etc. The course is taught through blended learning which is a mixture of home study and 5 attendance days.

It is different from the previous group exercise to music qualification as it allows candidates to still work with groups and music but without having to work to the beat and phrase of the music. However, candidates still have the option to complete the traditional exercise to music course (now called 'Group Training to Music' by attending an additional 2 days of training.

Course Content

• Candidates will study some of the course through home study and e-learning and 5 days of face to face learning, the course content covers:

Principles of anatomy and fitness
Professionalism for Group Training
Health and safety in the Group Training Environment
Supporting Behaviour Change and Healthy Lifestyles
Planning and instructing Group Training Sessions to include high intensity interval training (HIIT), circuit training, body conditioning, studio resistance etc.

Assessment and Certification

The course is assessed through written questions, assignments, theory assessments and practical observations. Some assessments are completed as home study, some during the attendance days and some on an allocated assessment date. Please note that if you cannot make your allocated assessment date for this course there is an option to change to a different date.

On completion candidates will be awarded with an Active IQ level 2 Certificate in Group Training or/and an Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Group Training to Music which will allow them to join CIMSPA at practitioner level.
