YMCA Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement
This assessor qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace — for example in a classroom, workshop or training environment. It develops the knowledge and skills needed to plan, carry out and make decisions on assessment.
The course is taught mainly through distance learning with one-to-one tutor support throughout (approximately three meetings with your tutor/assessor), and can be started at a time to suit you.
Course Content
The qualification is made up of two mandatory units covering:
- Principles and requirements of assessment
- Different types of assessment method
- Providing appropriate feedback following assessment
- Planning and performing assessments, involving learners and others
- Quality assurance of the assessment process
- Legal and good practice requirements
Pre-requisite
- Learners must be aged 19 or over
- Learners must have access to candidates on a vocationally-related training programme who they will be able to assess in the training environment
Assessment and Certification
The course is assessed through knowledge questions, a portfolio of evidence, professional discussion, observations and tasks/projects.
On completion candidates will be awarded the YMCA Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (Ofqual qualification number 600/0356/X).
Learners can progress on to the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
